On September 11, 2002 America suffered a frightening and devastating terrorist attack on American soil that began with hijacked airplanes that were forced to crash into two towers at what was once the “World Trade Center”. This attack resulted in the deaths of 2350 civilians, 343 officers on the NYC Fire Department, 23 NYPD officers and 37 Port Authority police officers. There were additional casualties at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, bringing the total overall death toll of the 9/11 attacks to 2,977 victims.

Those who were small children or not yet born may not know the facts of the 9/11 attack or it’s importance in American history. Some may have forgotten the magnitude of that terrible day and the resulting pain and changes that took place in the aftermath.

The Butte County Republican Party bow our heads in prayer for those who lost their lives September 11, 2001, and wish the public to know that we have not forgotten. On September 11, 2026 we commemorate the 25 year anniversary of that terrible day.

We believe Americans should come together as one voice to condemn violence and terrorism, to uphold freedom, and to support the continual rebuilding of our nation. We rebuild not to “fundamentally change” the United States of America, but to lovingly care for our great nation.
